This charming old walnut survivor really catches your eye with beautifully carved floral and cherub decorations, and two figures of a man with stylized characteristics consistent with the 17th Century. In antique furniture, especially from periods like the Jacobean or Gothic eras, it was common for craftsmen to include decorative faces or figures that represented abstract ideas, religious figures, or mythical characters. The wood has a rich, dark patina that gives a warm glow in the right light and stands as an attractive testament to the piece's long history. It would make a wonderful addition to a collection or simply an addition to add some historic character to a room or house. Make it yours today!

    Dimensions: 20" W x 16" D x 45" H

Condition: The chair is in very good condition and is stable and sturdy considering its age. There is some minor loss to the caning near the top of the back and there are a few old, repaired cracks that can be seen. There are other areas on minor loss, scratches, and old repairs that can be seen that one would expect to find on a piece of this age.
